Originally a freelance reporter for Pacific Northwest Magazine and the Statesman Journal, I worked with a small internet company, Surplus Direct (eventually purchased by software company Egghead), in 1997 as a writer, transitioned to the marketing department and fell in love with web marketing.
I started MEDIA forte marketing in 1998 working with Joe´s Direct, a handful of niche sports-related sites. MEDIA forte marketing roster includes clients from retail, service, hospitality and music industries. Clients range from a local boutique winery to Fortune 500 companies such as Avery Dennison.
Our clients are in various stages of SMO/SMM and it's exciting to watch those strategies blossom. Getting your first user generated content, or your first traffic or your first order from interaction with your social online community is thrilling. Though blogging can be intimidating for so many clients who don't consider themselves "technical", once they've invested the time and effort they realize it's less a technical proposition and more like getting the chance to talk with your customers face to face everyday.
I was featured in Glamour magazine, The Boston Globe, and Kiplinger Magazine articles touting the new telecommuting trend started with internet business. I am thrilled to be a speaker at this year's SMX West show in Santa Clara, Ca and honored to be speaking at SearchFest in my own backyard. I am a native Oregonian and have made Hood River my home for 11 years.
