Also, the speakers at Searchfest are known for dropping tidbits of "secrets" here and there. However, I don't quite get the reasoning, except for #1. Quality SEO and SEM information is available on the Internet galore and for free, and your speakers are unlikely to reveal any secrets that are not publicly available for free. It seems o me that the real power of SE and SEM industry events lies elsewhere. I realize that it's important to "meet the talent" face to face -- you may want to pick someone you will enjoy working with. As Samuel Jackson says in Pulp Fiction, "personality goes a long way." :) So you put that at #1 with good reason. It seems like a worthy event!
