October 15th, 2009 by Scott Hendison

I thought that Tuesday’s Social Media SixPack presentation went pretty well, and someone e-mailed me asking me for my slides, so I decided to post a dry run of my presentation here.

I went a bit long here. at about 10 minutes, but it might be worth watching if you want to be more efficient.

Embedding Youtube Video in Wordpress

January 28th, 2008 by Scott Hendison

Todd Mintz posted a YouTube video a couple of days ago and complained of “embedding issues” so I thought I’d do the same, testing for myself. Todd’s right… Although it showed in Firefox, it wouldn’t work in IE… What a a pain…

Sorry Todd, but here’s the fix – Before embedding the Youtube code in a Wordpress post, go to Users – your profile – and UNcheck the box for “use the visual editor when writing”. It’s stupid, but that all it takes to fix the issue. Sorry – blame Microsoft I guess…

Dunk Like An All-Star And Have An All-Star Dunk Your Dunk

January 25th, 2008 by Todd Mintz

This is a brilliant social media marketing idea…NBA Dunk contestant Rudy Gay is leading up the following promotion: Upload your best slam dunk videos to You Tube and he will select one dunk to perform at the NBA All-Star Game Dunk Contest.

A great way to engage the community to follow the new videos being uploaded to You Tube & participate in their evaluation. There’s a pretty good chance that a certain number of viral videos will emerge from this process and when one of these dunk videos goes viral, Rudy’s promotion is taken along for the viral ride.

New Google Sitemap for Video

December 18th, 2007 by Scott Hendison

Yesterday, Google announced a new option for supporting sitemaps for video, and maps can be submitted right alongside your other sitemap from inside Webmaster Tools.

In my opinion, early adopters of the video sitemaps will gain a huge advantage over the competition, and Google will be placing extra effort into indexing and displaying those results.

Others are just beginning to talk about it, with lots of comments and opinions today already, so you read up on exactly how to do it f you’re marketing with videos.

Using Video To Generate Leads & Sales Online

June 9th, 2007 by Todd Mintz

With the rise of Google’s universal search, search engine marketers are going to have to be craftier to make sales / generate leads. Clearly, people who have never thought of using video in SEM (including me) are going to have to adapt to this new landscape. Above is my first affiliate video. Pretty cheesy huh? However, I have “found” targeted traffic that I wouldn’t have gotten any other way.
