Account Director – Job Description

The position involves a three-month trial period designed to determine overall fit within the company. The Account Director will report directly to the CEO.
Job Objectives
Establish a trusting relationship with all our existing clients.
Improve the performance of all the campaigns we’re managing so our clients can get more traffic and sales.
Optimize processes so the work gets done faster, our employees are more productive and our clients are happier.
Get four new clients a month by speaking and writing about Internet marketing. This will fill in our pipeline; you’ll be responsible for meeting with prospects and closing deals, too.
Upsell some of our clients when you think that an increase in their Internet marketing investment will dramatically increase their revenues.
Lay out strategies for new clients so they get the highest ROI possible for their investment.
The Ideal Candidate
A people person. You have a blast going to networking events, calling clients and doing some public speaking.
Organized. You can manage a few dozen campaigns without anything falling through cracks. You’re good at managing people and making sure they meet deadlines. You’re really good at connecting with other employees and clients and understanding what they want.
A true expert. You know Internet marketing inside and out. You’ve ranked several websites on the first page of Google. You’ve managed several AdWords campaign and managed to keep them very profitable. You’ve managed a few social media marketing campaigns and your clients were very happy with their results. You’ve managed Facebook Advertising and LinkedIn advertising campaigns successfully. You know Analytics like the back of your hand. You have the ability to see a website and come up with ideas to increase its conversion rate. You’ve done some landing page A/B testing in the past. You can do keyword research and SEO on-page optimization with your eyes closed. Whenever you don’t know something, you do some research and figure it out. Your friends think you’re some sort of Internet Marketing God.
Truly loves selling. You love meeting with prospects for coffee. You love analyzing what kind of Internet marketing approach would be most effective in each case. You’re an amazing writer and love putting together proposals and writing blog posts.
Agency experience. Not required, but definitely a plus.
Willing to travel. If you’re willing to fly a couple of times a month to speak at conferences, that’d be terrific, but if you’re not, it’s not a deal-breaker.
