Position Summary:
Gallatin Public Affairs presents a once-in-a-career opportunity to help design, launch and grow a digital advocacy and creative services division within a reputable, established and growing public affairs firm with five offices throughout the west.

Gallatin is seeking a leader with demonstrated experienced in public affairs and politics. We are seeking a strategist, Democrat or Republican, who has successfully designed and executed public communications and activation programs on behalf of causes and/or candidates using digital and social media tools. We are seeking a manager who can work with professional colleagues and clients to fashion specific digital advocacy programs – from large scale public comment and legislative advocacy projects to small scale community outreach efforts.

Applicants must have the following characteristics:

• Understand what “advocacy” means in a digital context
• Can quickly integrate multi-platform digital engagement tactics and assets into a public affairs campaign
• Follow politics and news
• Understand how to build a consistent, simultaneous narrative across multiple platforms
• Have a full command of the building blocks of online engagement and creative, digital services
• Are focused, driven and thrive on managing successful projects
• Are an innovator; Track trends, usage tips, industry insights and new emerging tools in social media

Technical Proficiency:
• Set up, manage, track, optimize and report on digital campaigns across multiple platforms for multiple clients
• Proficient in information architecture, content management systems, blogging software, website design, video, analytics, email and outbound communications, online advertising and social media
• Integrate social media tools like widgets, videos and other plug-ins into web platforms and operating systems
• Use video editing software such as iMovie, Photoshop, and Final Cut Studio and graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop at a very basic level a plus
• Implementation of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics and best practices
• Manage thriving online communities; respond to comments, activate users through calls to action, escalate comments to appropriate entities, engage when necessary, provide resources to users, etc.
• Create digital content including emails, blog posts, website copy, social media and SMS content that aims to influence public opinion within target segments around complex issues
• Execute and synchronize sophisticated editorial strategies and publishing calendars across multiple platforms, both on and offline
• Analyze performance metrics to evaluate the R.O.I against client objectives on multiple digital platforms such as Google Analytics, Enewsletter CMS systems, Facebook Insights, Google AdWords, Wordpress
• Draft compelling reports for client consumption and internal use, such as reports on relevant performance metrics, conversions and user engagements
• Document strategies and outcomes in a variety of editorial and visual formats. These formats may include sitemaps, wireframes, user flows, PPT/Keynote presentations, blog pipelines, editorial memos, and strategic assessments

Leadership:
• Work collaboratively with Gallatin professionals to develop campaign strategies, creative ideas and innovation opportunities
• Use sound judgment to identify issues and escalate when appropriate
• Drive focused decisions within specific areas and is a key contributor to decisions beyond specific scope of role
• Identify key needs or gaps and provide leadership to close those gaps
• Identifies and communicates specific personal growth goals for self

Skills:
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
• Political, campaign, or public affairs experience highly desired
• Client service or consulting experience is a plus

Education/Experience:
• Bachelors Degree
• Two to six years experience as a digital/content strategist or similar role(s)
• Very strong Excel and Power Point skills
