There are a lot of good resources for OS Commerce. An email inquiry came in today, so I've steered them towards these mods – (and that's the extent of my involvement) – but I just thought I'd start this thread for any future OS Commerce topics. Got any tips or advice to add?

I had a client a couple of years ago that had a devil of a time getting Google Analyitcs Ecommerce wired using OS Commerce.

But that was a couple of yeras ago, use of Google Checkout was complicating the issue, and the “webmaster”, as usual, wasn't really into the whole metrics thing.

Take it for what it is worth.

The SEO-G plugin is pretty good.  But the better way is to write a bit of custom code.  We just launched a mega site for gpiperformance.com that is a heavily modified osCommerce store and were able to go from 0 to 150 uniqe vists per day just based on Meta Tag work.

We implemented a modifeid version of seo-g last tuesday, Google hasnt really picked it up but I think once it hits they should be doing 250+ uniques per day with organic only.

The other thing to do wtih osc is to optimize the image names, that can be really huge because google images traffic can account for alot of the visitors.
