Has anyone noticed that the home page of SEMpdx has lower PR than nearly all of the interior pages? I can understand why some event pages might have higher PR, but all of them? Seems odd to me… any theories?

Wow, no, I hadn’t noticed that, but now you point it out, you’re right! No particular theories though … is it that odd? I wouldn’t know, I haven’t done that much SEO yet and I’m still kind of a beginner, but anyway, I never came across something like that. Why is it so weird or odd? Interesting though, now I think about it, it’s not usually like that. Why would that be? Greets and sorry for the unknowing newbie question

My company sells sports, theater and concert seats. Some of the performer pages (Shakira, Monty Python's Spamalot) that are a layer deep have pr 4 and 5, which I've seen grow up from nothing in the past few months. However, the home page stubbornly remains pr 3. Everywhere else seems to be the opposite, that is a high-pr home page with the pr trickling down to the deeper pages. I have to think that this is hurting the site in the SERPs. Does anyone else have this problem or any ideas what the cause of it could be?

Although we share a common header design, remember that SEMpdx has two domains – SEMpdx.org, and the blog/forum at sempdx.org.
I can't really comment on why things at SEMpdx.org make no sense, but at sempdx.org, the variance is because of the inbound links.
Inbound links dictate visible PR, and we have far more people linking to interior posts on sempdx.org than links t othe home page.

pagelanding – I suspect your "problem" if it is one, is the same. More links to interior pages. No I dont think its hurting your rankings, but sure, pumping up links to your home page will help.
