Hi, I'm looking for a few good critiques on my website http://www.auradev.com

I feel like I may have gone too text heavy.  But I feel the need to explain while I am selling.

Look at the web hosting page, do you think that is a good balance, or still to text heavy?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I am not an SEO or Design guy. So take this for what it is worth.

But from an AdWords-Quality Score view of things, if Portland Web Design is the Titile Tage, I would like to see the content more supportive of the title tag, or the other way around.

And if this is going to serve to some extent as a PPC “landing page”, I would maybe have less or more focused content, or at least accent the content (header tag maybe?) that supports the Title Tag, ad content, and ad group or keyword.

No Chris, not at all too heavy in my opinion, and you have a nice balance, I think. On the other hand, you DO have some FF compatibility problems – the text at the top is misplaced out of the graphic -

Portland Web Design – Web Development – Internet Marketing – Web Hosting

I REALLY like that dynamic tag cloud! What plugin is that?

From an SEO aspect, I'd use Portland and VPS in the Header tag to match your title, and I can see you have no sitemap.xml,  (perhaps by choice) and you're not specifying the size attributes of all your images, which makes the page load slower. Overall though, a great effort, IMO

Chris – what'll it take to get you to bring this site to our Hot Seat on 5/12 & get a full 15 minutes of advice from our panel?

Scott – the plugin is called WP-Cumulus.  I've used it for one of my "play" sites and it's pretty slick..

Chris – one little tidbit I'd add: since you're targeting "Portland Web Design" for your homepage, it's great that keyword is in the title tag & META description… but I don't see any mentions in your primary body copy.  I would even look into including it into your h1 tag (which currently just says 'web design').

I'll have to echo Ben thought here – the Hot Seat events SEMpdx puts on is SUPER VALUABLE for sites that are being critiqued.  I'm sure if you signed up and got your site on there, you would be floored by the kind of info the expert panel will hit on.  Think about it :)
