Under the Hood: Semantic SEO & Social Metadata

Join SEMpdx on February 11th and go under the hood on semantic markup and structured data for SEO and social media! This is a hot topic this year (as Joe Griffin told us last month), and the time to jump on semantic SEO is today!

In this highly informative and takeaway focused session, Mike Arnesen (SEO Team Manager at SwellPath) and Will Hattman (Organic Search Specialist at Anvil Media) will go back-to-back hitting on semantic markup, schema.org, Google’s Knowledge Graph, social metadata, Twitter Cards, Pinterest Rich Pins, and more!

If there’s one event to make sure you hit this month in addition to SearchFest, this is it. As always, we are the second Tuesday of the month, with networking from 5:00 to 5:30, we’ll have an hour long presentation and Q&A, then another half hour of hang around time. Hope to see you there!

Here are the presentations from the event.

Speakers

Mike ArnesenMike Arnesen
Mike is the SEO Team Manager at SwellPath. With 8 years of industry experience, Mike is a self-confessed über-geek with an obsession with search experience optimization and semantic SEO. Mike has spoken about SEO locally and nationally including SEMpdx events, MozCon, SMX, State of Search, and more. If you’d like to know whether or not he thinks semantic markup is important, you can just read his post “If You Don’t Care About Semantic Markup, You Suck At SEO“.

will-hattmanWill Hattman
Will is the Organic Search Specialist at Anvil Media and brings years of in-the-trenches SEO experience to the table. Beyond tried and true SEO tactics, Will also has a passion for semantic markup and structured data. In his popular post, “Semantic Markup is Virtuous“, he talks about why the web needs semantic data, emphasizing that “with each passing year, we add significantly to the sum of human information on the web, and rely on search ever more to connect us with that information. To make the process of retrieving and digesting it this much more efficient is going to go a very long way indeed toward making us happier denizens of the web. I want the web bursting at the seams with the stuff.”
