SEMpdx Members: Volunteer for a Committee Now
SEMpdx’s ongoing mission is to put Search on the map in Portland and Portland on the map of Search. Our organization is powered by volunteers. We invite you to apply for a Committee position to help SEMpdx.
Current Committee needs include Marketing, Membership and Engage Conference Initiatives.
Interested? First, learn a little bit about the committees.
The Marketing Committee is tasked with improving awareness of the SEMpdx brand locally and nationally as well as increasing membership and attendance at our educational/networking events. We’re looking for a few amazing people to help drive overall marketing strategy as well as implement tactics like helping build awareness and growing our social media community, content development, email marketing, search engine optimization, outreach, and PR to name a few. The SEMpdx Marketing Committee will meet monthly, virtually or in-person. The estimated time commitment will be approximately 3-4 hours per month.
The SEMpdx Membership Committee will identify and execute goals, objectives, and tactics for increasing membership by adding new members and improving current member retention. Among ongoing initiatives will be SEMpdx Member of the Month feature, Monthly Brown Bag meet up, New Member Mentor Calls, and coordinating with other SEMpdx operations (marketing, SearchFest, monthly education events, etc.). The SEMpdx Membership Committee will meet monthly, virtually or in-person. The estimated time commitment will be about 4-6 hours per month.
Engage is SEMpdx’s annual conference (formerly called SearchFest) which is normally held in March. We’re in need of some volunteers to help plan the event and build out website information about speakers, sponsors, and the agenda. Coordination with the venue, speakers, moderators, event volunteers, and vendors will also be needed. We’re looking for graphic designers, sponsorship diehards, fun & after party planners, and WordPress gurus. The Engage Committee will meet monthly, virtually or in-person. Estimated time commitment will be about 3-5 hours per month, with likely more time needed in the few months prior to the conference.
