June 2 and 3rd, 2009 SMX Advanced is taking place in Seattle, and a few people from Portland are going to be taking Amtrak up, and leave the driving to them.

What’s a good place to meet on the train? Hey, I know, how about the lounge car?

As Ben LLoyd current President of SEMpdx puts it –

For those who plan on attending SMX Advanced and can swing the schedule – the SearchCommander & I are planning on taking the train to/from SMX Advanced. Thought I’d let you know in case you want to join the party! ๐Ÿ™‚

Amtrak is pretty great – assuming there’s no traffic, it takes maybe an extra half an hour to get to/from Seattle – but you don’t have to sit in traffic, you can drink beers, watch movies, read a book, whatever. (though – some of you may do that while making the drive anyway) And you get dropped off right in the middle of downtown.

For less than $60 – it’s pretty great and you can chuckle at our friends who drive to ‘save time’ or who end up getting a speeding ticket.

Here’s the info so you can book the same if you like. We’re going up early enough to hit any dinners/parties the night before.
