Our talented team makes the hard work of creating your site, optimizing your site for search and reaching your business goals a fun and creative process. Our programmers, designers, writers and project managers bring the same amount of creativity and devotion to their work as they do to their personal lives.

1) Tell me about Media forte Marketing. What is a typical client engagement for you?

Our goal at MEDIA forte marketing is to help our clients Turn Clicks Into Customers. Many SEO agencies aim to get page placement and they consider their job done. Page one placement on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines is important to helping clients get found by their markets, but we hope to help our clients create a user experience on their web site that helps search traffic convert to a customer. We work with our clients to create solid site architecture, to craft fresh, relevant content and to garner relevant links, all leading to the end goal of exceptional natural search placement. No client engagement is typical, every business has its’ own unique needs and goals-it’s our objective to help them achieve that goal.

2) How valuable is it to attend Search Engine Conferences?
Attending Search Engine Conferences is not just valuable, it’s essential. Any agency serious about Search Marketing should engage in these events, for education and for networking. I attended my first SES conference is 2001, priorities and strategies have rapidly changed and the only way to stay abreast of those changes is to stay informed through these events. It is hugely inspirational to hear how colleagues have achieved their search marketing goals and I am consistently impressed by the level of ingenuity and brilliance of fellow search marketers. Engagement in Search Engine Marketing is an honor, at every show I am reminded that the best and the brightest are drawn to the newness, creativity and possibility of this relatively new industry-it’s beyond exciting!

3) When people ask you what an SEO firm is doing in a small town like Hood River, what do you tell them?
I tell them necessity is the mother of invention. I started my career as a reporter for Pacific Northwest Magazine and the Statesman Journal. When I moved to Hood River 11 years ago, not being able to find a reporting job, I took a job at Mt Hood Meadows as a “Media Contact” (aka “Snow Phone Girl”). Though I later worked in the marketing department of Surplus Direct (eventually purchased by Egghead.com) I knew that my best opportunity in this place that I love where I live with my now-teenage children was to start my own business. When I started my own agency in 1998, I primarily wrote product content, emails and other promotional material. As the business evolved, I worked on user experience, conversion improvement and, for the last 6 years, Search Engine Optimization and Marketing. My MEDIA forte marketing office, at 12 Oak St, Suite 1A (also known as the office behind the coffee shop:) has a lovely view of the river and I am daily reminded of how blessed I am to be engaged in a career that inspires me in a town that I love.
